Principal, Carmen N. Amador

It’s great to welcome everyone to another engaging, invigorating and stimulating school year at IS 303. Our school offers students a wealth of opportunities geared towards helping them fine themselves as they navigate the path they are in – the path of self-discovery. Exploring who we are and what we are good at is the key to academic success and to success in life as well. Our goal is to connect with each and every child, model our high expectations and help parents and children see what a well-connected, goal oriented school community has to offer.

We invite all incoming students to stop by our offices and share a little about who they are. The rest leave to us! We look forward to serving our students and connecting with families. We also look forward to continuing our partnership with institutions of higher education and our community. We firmly believe that strong schools will yield strong communities and we aim to prepare our students to be active members and contributors to their communities.

Audrey Houston, Assistant Principal

I am very excited to be working with the sixth, seventh, and eight graders and their families this year. With hard work and dedication, the eight grade can be the best and most exciting year of middle school. We have many fun and exciting new programs and activities planned to make this school year very rewarding one.

The most important thing we can do to make this year a success is to be actively involved in what our children are doing in school every day! Parents as Partners is a crucial component in making middle school the best education experience possible for our children. I look forward to working with you to ensure your child’s last year at IS 303 is memorable and successful!

I wish you a successful school year!

Evan Rabinowitz, Assistant Principal

Dear Students, Staff and Families,

I am thrilled to serve as the IS 303 Assistant Principal. At IS 303 our students are properly taught and prepared to be productive 21st century members of society. Critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication are some but not all ways we strive to develop their decision making and problem solving skills. Our middle school’s diverse educational programs and extra-curricular activities allow students to explore their interests and be exposed to new experiences out of their norm. Using data based instruction, rigorous content and higher order questioning, our staff here challenges all students to be able to tackle real world situations and engage in meaningful discussions.

The teachers and administration hold all students at IS 303 accountable to the highest standards. High expectations for student respect, responsibility, and pride help create a positive learning environment where all students feel confident and comfortable about their school experiences. It is our goal that each child will reach their highest potential both academically and behaviorally. In addition, we hope to prepare students for college and their future careers.

The collaboration with the staff, students, families and the school community create a wonderful culture and climate that promotes lifelong learning. I believe that our school is the type of environment where all members of our school can make significant progress. As a member of the school and living community I am excited to support your families in preparing our students here at IS 303 to be successful members of society. My office door is always open. Please feel free to contact me by email or phone with any questions, comments or concerns.

Sincerely,

Evan Rabinowitz
